Abilene, Ks
Searching for the perfect venue for your wedding can be overwhelming. The time, websites, calls, emails, and tours can be exhausting. Many websites like the Knot and Weddingwire only show venues that have paid to be on there, and when you are trying to find your diamond in the rough, it isn't always helpful. That's where I come in. Over the next few months I will be posting information on different wedding venues in Kansas, simplified, and in one place to help the future bride in her search.
Sand Springs Venue
Abilene, Ks
Sand Springs Wedding Venue is located in Abilene, Ks, a small town 27 miles from Salina and 43 miles from Manhattan. With a rustic chic charm this property highlights all the beauty of Kansas and has everything you could need for a perfect wedding day from getting ready in the bridal suite to a large reception area to eat, drink , and dance the night away.
The entrance to the Venue. An old gray-hound farm renovated by the 6 family and friends that work there.
The view from the parking area. The red building is the bridal suite. There is plenty of parking to accommodate all guests. Not into driving? There is a shuttle in town you can book for your wedding guests!
The bridal suite. Imagine getting ready photos in a room this lovely. Also has a fridge and microwave for snacks and drinks and plenty of places to hang your garments.
The front of the reception building (Mower is not normally there, the owner was mowing when I arrived, she is very dedicated to keeping this place beautiful.
What you see walking in to the reception area. This space can also be utilized for an indoor ceremony should the weather not cooperate. It can hold up to 250 guests, has a prep kitchen, bar, and looks nice without decor, but the best part? A bartender is included with the venue rental (you supply the alcohol), as well as any decor they have (and they have a storage container full), and you have the option to bring in your own food or hire a caterer.
The bar to the back left of the reception area.
Add a neon light and you have a great place for guests to take photos...or a backdrop behind your dessert table, there are so many possibilities.
The ceremony area, also able to seat 250 guests, the arch in front was designed and created by the family, as well the well maintained landscaping, and entering into the ceremony space? Barn doors that can be closed and opened for a big reveal when the bride arrives.
Images of the property that are perfect for wedding photos. Keep in mind, I am not a photographer, I know nothing about taking photos, and this was taken with just my Iphone, no filters or fancy settings, so just imagine how good it looks in person and what a professional could do.
