Mill Creek Lodge

Alma, Ks

Mill Creek Lodge is a working farm just a few miles out of Alma, Ks. If you don't mind the drive, it is secluded and quiet, making it perfect for a country celebration. With the unique design inside and out, the barn is one of the most beautiful I have seen in Kansas and it's hard to imagine it was once used for livestock. The on site manager, and the owner are both friendly, accommodating, and very easy to work with. If you are looking to have a laid back, country style wedding, this is the place.

The barn at Mill Creek Lodge. It has three stories and is antique, rustic and unique. If you are looking for a ceremony with a barn, chairs can also be set up to face here.

View of the second story of the barn from the third floor. The barn can accommodate 250 people comfortably, includes table and chairs and has plenty of bathrooms. Remember if you are bringing your own food, the barn only has a prep kitchen and if you are wanting to cook onsite (unless you are bringing a smoker or grill), you will have to rent the lodge to use that kitchen. There is also a mobile bar in the bar, and you can BYOB.

The main house at Mill Creek Lodge. Homesteaded in 1865, the original house built is still part of the main house. If you include this with your rental, the main house has 5 bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a dining area that can accommodate 50 people (rehearsal dinner perhaps?) The outdoor ceremony can also be set up to face the house if that is the aesthetic you choose. The balcony on the second floor above the door is accessible and would make beautiful photos of the bride. One thing I love about this place is that you can also include a horse and carriage to drive the bride to the aisle for her grand entrance, just like a princess!

Bedroom on the first floor of the main house. This would be beautiful for getting ready photos. The other bedrooms are upstairs, and because the house is on the historic registry, they are limited on updates they are allowed to add, so it is not handicap friendly. But every room is outfitted with antique furniture and just as lovely as this.

Sitting room in main house. Most furniture in the house (except the kitchen and dining room) are antique and picturesque.

Outdoor ceremony option, where the rocks are is where the creek turns and pools. During certain times of the year, the water is fuller and blue, but even in the hot summer, the area is lovely.

Picture of the outdoor area with the creek to the right. The arbor can be moved to any place on the proper that you want to have ceremony.

The field and creek. If you looking for your ceremony to show authentic Kansas, green fields and blue skies, this is the perfect spot.

Another outdoor option just to the right of the barn, if you are wanting space with a little more trees. There isn't a place on this proper that isn't photo worthy.
