Manhattan Kansas is a quaint little college town of a little over 50,000 residents and is nestled between the Kansas and Big Blue River. This meaning it has scenic views, lakes, hotels, restaurants, bars, and college town night life. And located on the outskirts is Lazy T Ranch, an event venue that I have heard quite a bit about in my short time as an event planner. So of course I had to call the owner and ask to visit. The owner was very friendly, responsive, and happy to show me around. And I don't know what I expected when I showed up, but it certainly wasn't a goat greeting me as soon as I opened my door! 

Lazy T is a working farm and until a few years ago, didn't expect to become a popular event space. But their country charm, open space, and beautiful scenery helped to make the decision. In addition to weddings, Lazy T Ranch hosts birthday parties, quinceaneras, festivals, and much more!

The barn next to the reception barn, is not used for events (the animals live here), but adds to the scenery. 

Clearing on top of a hill that offers 360 degree views of the flint hills. An arch and chairs and you have a beautiful ceremony space with little effort. 

Another possible ceremony space just beyond the tall grass, all areas are able to be driven up to if needed.

Looking outside the reception barn is the pen for the animals. They are friendly! But they can be put away if you don't wish for them to be out your event. 

Another potential site for a ceremony. Many covet a clearing amongst trees, and Lazy T Ranch has just that. 

Another one of many outdoor areas that would be gorgeous for a ceremony. With over 500 acres, there are many choices, each unique and offering a different view of the surrounding landscape. 

Pertinent Info:

• Can accommodate 250 guests inside and up to 600 outdoors. 
• Indoor and outdoor space for both ceremony and reception.
• Does not let you bring your own food, but can provide catering or you can bring in a caterer. 
• Alcohol license/bartender is not needed unless you are selling, but they can provide a bartender.
• Do not have to purchase your own event insurance.
• Open flame ok, as long as it's contained.
• Glass ok.
• Outdoor play area for children and even slide adults can ride on.
• Handicap accessible.
• Parking in grass, can drive up to ceremony site if needed. 
• On site lodging available.
• No bridal suite. But if lodging is purchased, you can use it to get ready.
• Has outdoor chairs and indoor table and chairs available. They have a variety of arches to from, some included with the cost and some can be rented.
• LGBTQ+ inclusive
• Can get the full farm experience of hay rides, petting animals, and roping a steer head.
• Has a wedding planner on staff.
