Marion, Ks
Are you looking for an intimate wedding venue that gives off that vintage elegance of yesteryears? The Elgin Hotel might just be what you're looking for. Built in 1886, this 12 suite hotel has the style and elegance of the years gone by, but all the modern amenities needed to make your wedding day perfect and relaxed. It is located in the adorable town of Marion, which is approximately 1 hour from Wichita, and is large enough to have the things you need, like restaurants, a coffee shop across the street from the hotel, and the whole town is very walkable.
The front of the hotel.
The staircase in the lobby. right above the chair is a massive chandelier, and with the dark wood stairs, makes me wish I could take nice photos.
This picture does not do this gorgeous chandelier justice. If you are interested in seeing what a photographer can do, please reach out and I can show you the photos, or you can reach out to the hotel itself.
The reception area. It can accommodate 75 guests, and depending on your preference, can have tablecloths and chair covers or not. The dark wood bar in the back of the photo can be moved to wherever you like in the room, and expands to a larger bar. You can definitely byob, and as long as you aren't selling, no license is required.
The outdoor ceremony space. Not wedding ready at this time, but the chairs would be removed, lawn chairs set up on the grass, and the arch would be decorated if they were to have it ready. The string lights are up all year. The ceremony space can accommodate approximately 125 guests, so if you were doing ceremony only and no reception, that is something to keep in mind.
The groom's suite. This picture makes it look small but it has a pool and poker table, big screen TVs, yard games, and leather couches for the men to hang out, because women usually take longer to get ready. And the outdoor games can be used to occupy children if needed.
The bridal suite. 3 beautiful sofas, a full length mirror, ideal lighting and large enough to fit the whole bridal party. My favorite part? There's a door that connects the bridal suite to the kitchen.
Outdoor patio on second floor that wraps around 2 sides of the building. Has outdoor seating for spending time with your wedding party or guests, and the rock and trees are ideal for a photographer to create a picture perfect photo of the bride and groom out here.
Kitchen on second floor, every floor has a kitchen available to be used by guests.
Sitting area on second floor, every floor also has community sitting area. Each is uniquely decorated.
Antique sofa in hallway on second floor. The entire hotel has pieces like this everywhere.
As always, I am not a photographer, I'm not even considered good at taking photos, it often causes sighs and laughter amongst my family and friends. So if you are wanting to see what a professional can do with these beautiful place, send me an email or go on their website.
