Wichita, Ks
Something I have noticed when scouring the internet is a growing popularity for greenhouse weddings. Maybe it's just the algorithm showing me what it thinks I want, but either way, I think this trend is sophisticated and lovely, and of course I had to see if anything like this was offered in Kansas. Low and behold, right on the outskirts of Wichita, is aTREEum, a family run greenhouse venue that has everything you need to make a fairytale wedding.
This is the front of the venue, and in January, still has greenery around it, and will have more in the spring. Parking is right out front, is paved and handicap accessible. To the side of the building on the left of this photo is a grassy area and small pond, with a paved area perfect for cocktail hour, yard games, or just a breath of fresh air.
This is the indoor ceremony space, the greenery behind the arch is included in the rental and one thing I love about this place, because they are a greenhouse, the plants aren't always the same, but there are always plants.
This is the reception area, the ceremony space is through the opening with the grey curtains at the back of the photo. The names on the wall is included in your rental and the venue personalizes of course to your last name. There are also plants here year round. That with the wooden farmhouse tables make a lovely reception area. You can add your own personal touches to spruce it up more, or it is pretty just as it is. There are also working bathrooms to the right just outside of the photo.
The bar area inside the reception space. It has everything a bartender could need and then some.
This can be added for an extra fee, but it was a photo space right beside the bar, and was too beautiful not to photograph. This would make for a great photo area for both the couple and guests.
This is the space to get ready in the bridal suite. They aren't turned on but it has great lighting and lots of counter space for the bride and her party to get ready. It is an extra fee to rent the bridal and groom suite (downstairs) but it is a very affordable addition.
Another part of the bridal suite, a great area to relax and there is a 3 way mirror in the suite that isn't in the photo.
Coming to the venue I was a little deterred because it is down a long dirt road, and I kept wondering if the venue had a dirt parking lot or a lot of dirt around the venue, because certain times of the year that could be very muddy. But that was put to rest when I saw the space. The parking is mostly paved, and the grass is well maintained. in addition, the venue coordinator was quick to respond to my email, very knowledgable about the space and weddings in general, and extremely patient with my two children running around (it was hectic, to say the least). This lets me know that they will do a great job taking care of any wedding.
